The purpose of this report is to comment on the situation with the student’s canteen at our faculty and to suggest possible improvements.

Actually, there is no any canteen in our building. Our “canteen” consists of a small table with no doubt unhealthy, tasteless, unpalatable and harmful food: different cakes, pies, hot-dogs, chocolates, fizzy drinks and juices. Besides, there is no any place for students to eat this food nearby our canteen, because it is situated on the ground floor, where always crowded. Moreover, the canteen is located near the wardrobe, that’s why it’s not hygienic and it may be dangerous for the health of students and teachers. And the students, who look after their health, try to avoid such food and thus it adversely affects their studies. One more problem is that our students don’t have time to eat, because the duration of all brakes is only 10 minutes.

There are number of changes that could be made in order to improve the situation. Firstly, it’s necessary to make over the 14th floor and to make our canteen similar to a restaurant. Secondly, it’s important to place comfortable tables and chairs and for our teachers – convenient couches. And finally, in our restaurant it will be bar with large selection of drinks (incl. beer only after studies) and huge amount of different kinds of healthy and qualitative food (soups, salads, first and second courses and also desserts).

To sum up, while most of us are satisfied with the conditions, I feel that the above improvements would make things even better. If these suggestions were carried out, both teachers and students would have a more comfortable environment for studying and teaching.
